ROLAND SMITH
Roland Smith is an award winning author. He has written twenty nine books. Some of his best works are "Elephant Run", "Cryptic Hunters", and "Peak". He has been writing since he was five years old when he got an old manual typewriter. Some of his earliest memories are of himself clacking away on the typewriter. His biography tells of how he loved the look of the sharp, black letters against the crisp, white paper.
Roland Smith lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Marie, on a small farm. Roland is very much involved in working with animals. Before becoming a writer, he worked at a children's zoo for twenty years. He says that all his animal experiences have given him many wonderful ideas for books.
